What DiscoHunt keeps about you, for how long, and how to delete it.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

What we store for your account

  • The public part of your Discogs profile: username, name, location, avatar, profile text, home page, when you joined Discogs, the currency you sell in, and counts (collection, wantlist, lists, items for sale, ratings, contributions). It is refreshed each time you sign in.
  • Your wantlist and your Discogs lists, as imported from Discogs, and the progress of those imports.
  • The records you ticked for a search, and the items in your cart.
  • Your settings: currency, country, near-miss margins, price-move days, and how far you got in the guide.
  • Your Discogs access token, stored encrypted. Sign-in uses the official Discogs login, so we never see or store your Discogs password.

What we store for everyone

  • Marketplace listings, seller profiles, and seller and release reviews, as found on Discogs. They are shared by all users and are not tied to your account.

Sessions, logs and errors

  • For each browser you use while signed in we record which browser it is, whether it is a phone, when you signed in and last visited, and which version of our extension answered. A browser not seen for 30 days is deleted from this record.
  • The app's own record of server events and of errors in your browser while you are signed in is kept for 30 days, then deleted. A browser error is stored with your account, your browser, the page address and the error text.
  • The app does not store IP addresses.
  • The web server keeps no access logs. Its messages and the app's console output are limited in size and overwritten as new ones come in.

Feedback

  • Messages and files you send from the Feedback page are kept until the owner deletes them. Files you attach can show private screens, so look at them before you send.
  • If you delete your account, your feedback messages and their files stay as you sent them, no longer linked to your account.

Cookies

  • Sign-in cookies while you are signed in. They end 30 days after your last visit, or when you log out.
  • A cookie that holds your Discogs sign-in for 10 minutes while you sign in.
  • Cookies that remember your search filters, your chosen lists and your list view, for one year.

The Chrome extension

  • The extension reads Discogs only while you press Search, open a listing, or press Transfer to Discogs. It sends what it fetched to our server.
  • Transfer to Discogs adds the chosen items to your own Discogs cart. Nothing else in your Discogs account is changed.
  • The extension holds no passwords and no Discogs tokens.

Deleting your account

  • On your Profile page press Delete my account, then Yes, delete. Everything listed under “What we store for your account” and your sessions are deleted at once, and you are signed out. Log lines that mention you are deleted with the rest after 30 days.
  • We back up the whole database every day. A daily copy is deleted after at most 7 days and a weekly copy after at most 35 days, so deleted data stays in a backup for at most 35 days. The copies are kept on our server, and the owner keeps copies on their own encrypted computer under the same limits. They are used only to bring the service back after a failure.
  • Deleting your account removes our copy of your Discogs access. You can also remove DiscoHunt's access in your Discogs account settings.
